XGN35-12 Key Applications & Operating Conditions

The XGN35-12 is a box-type fixed metal-enclosed switchgear for indoor application in three-phase AC 50/60 Hz distribution networks of 3.6–12 kV. It is mounted on a rigid welded frame of angle steel and is the central node in power systems for receiving and distributing electrical power. It can satisfy the operational requirements of various industrial and mining enterprises, substations, and power stations.

Standards Compliance

GB3906 “3~35kV A.C. metal-enclosed switchgear”

IEC 62271-200 ” High-voltage switchgear and controlgear – Part 200: AC metal-enclosed switchgear and controlgear for rated voltages above 1 kV and up to and including 52 kV”

Installation & Operating Conditions

Ambient air temperature
  • Surrounding air temperature:-15℃~+40℃.
  • The average temperature in 24 hours should not exceed 35℃.
Altitude
  • The applying altitude should not exceed 1000m.
Atmosphere
  • The switchgear shall be installed indoors, free from fire hazard, explosion risk, severe contamination, corrosive chemical gases, and severe vibration. For severe service conditions, the design meets Class Ⅰ severity requirements.
  • Earthquake intensity: ≤Magnitude 8.
Humidity
  • Relative humidity: the daily average value ≤95%, the monthly average value≤90%.
  • Average vapour pressure: the daily average value ≤ 2.2 kPa, the monthly average value ≤ 1.8 kPa.
SSE XGN35-12 Features
  • The switchgear is equipped with a five-prevention safety interlock system. The circuit breaker is installed in a compartment with a pressure relief channel.
  • The modular busbar design can be configured for single busbar, double busbar, and bypass configurations, allowing for future grid expansion without having to replace the entire lineup.
  • Fully sealed gas insulation design ensures improved safety and reduces maintenance frequency.
  • Easy cable entry and plug-in connection.
  • The ultra-compact model saves up to 40% on installation space compared to traditional ones.
  • Full-Scenario Simulation Testing: Load Simulation, Emergency Operation Verification (Opening and Closing Response Time ≤ 20ms), Multi-Device Linkage Testing (Protection Device/Transformer Coordination Error <1%), Triple Performance Verification: Passed a 72-hour full-load temperature rise test and a mechanical lifespan test of ≥10,000 cycles.

Switchgear is typically an enclosed system designed to distribute power safely, often connecting to transformers or motor control centres (MCCs), and may include devices such as variable speed drives or power distribution products. Choosing the correct switchgear involves more than matching voltage ratings.

Why Choose SSE Electric

Quality Control You Can See Before Shipment

Every switchgear cabinet that leaves our facility must pass through a five-stage quality assurance process, from raw materials to final release for shipment.

Verified Components Before They Enter Your Switchgear

All purchased components, such as circuit breakers, transformers, insulators, busbar material, and auxiliary devices, are verified against approved vendor lists and inspected upon receipt.
01
Verifying Certificates & Test Data

Verify the certificates of conformity, type test reports, and factory test data.

02
Inspecting Structural Parts

Conduct dimensional and visual inspection of busbars, enclosures, and structural parts.

03
Testing Insulating Materials

Run sampling tests on insulating materials and other components.

04
Rejecting Non-Conforming Parts

Prevent defective components from entering the production line to safeguard the original reliability.

Precision Assembly That Meets the Drawing

Component assembly must strictly follow standard operating procedures to ensure worker safety while maintaining a clean, dust-free workshop environment.
01
Torquing Every Bolted Connection

Tighten all bolted joints to specified torque values, with each connection point recorded for traceability.

02
Verifying Clearances & Phase Sequence

Check conductor clearances, creepage distances, and phase sequence against design drawings.

03
Testing Shutters, Interlocks & Truck Mechanisms

Verify shutters, interlocks, and the truck’s mechanical performance in different positions: service, test, and withdrawn.

04
Checking Wiring Against Schematics

Check all internal wiring against schematics, including ferrule identification, terminal tightening, and earthing continuity.

Every Panel Proves Safe in Electrical Verification

Before any energization, each panel undergoes a comprehensive program of routine tests in accordance with IEC 60298 and GB 3906.
01
Measuring Main Circuit Resistance

Measure the resistance of the main circuit.

02
Applying Withstand Voltage Tests

Run a power-frequency withstand voltage test on the main circuit and auxiliary circuits.

03
Measuring Partial Discharge

Verify misoperation-prevention functions; detect partial discharge where specified.

04
Testing Relays & Verifying Metering

Test protection relays by secondary injection and verify metering accuracy.

Nothing Ships Only With Approval

The FAT confirms that the switchgear is built in conformity with the approved drawings, the technical specification, and all applicable standards.
01
Repeating Comprehensive Checks

Perform visual and mechanical checks; verify design drawings, test procedures, and technical documents.

02
Running Key Tests Per Standards

Conduct tests per IEC standards and project specs, including withstand tests, primary/secondary injection tests, and corrosion resistance tests.

03
Re-Testing Before Release

Record deviations or non-conformities during FAT, take corrective measures, and re-test until all units pass before release.

04
Preparing Before Shipping

Issue the FAT report and release certificate; clean the cabinet surface.

From Our Factory Floor to Your Site, Intact and On Time

Shipment isn’t simply switchgear dispatched. Every step follows a controlled process covering final verification, export-grade protection, document preparation, and coordinated logistics.
01
Packing for Export
